Meet Abby

My name is Abby, and I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate. I specialize in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and group therapy that helps people reconnect with their bodies as part of their healing process. So often, we try to think or reason our way through pain—but real transformation happens when we create safety and begin listening to what the body holds.
As a counselor, I’ve worked with individuals and couples who want to move beyond intellectualizing their struggles, heal from childhood trauma, and experience deeper emotional connection in themselves and in their relationships. As a client, I’ve known therapy that felt unsafe or ineffective. That’s why, as a therapist, I commit to meeting vulnerability with safety, compassion, and approaches that support both mind and body in the healing process.
I offer virtual sessions throughout Texas. Wherever you are in your healing journey, you are welcome here.

Therapy for Complex Family Dynamics and Individual Healing
When life feels disorienting and you're ready for something to shift, therapy can be a place to pause, reconnect, and begin again. I help individuals and couples in Dallas, Lewisville, and across Texas (by Telehealth) who know they don't have it all together and don't need to pretend they do.
If you struggle to name what you're feeling, if your thoughts spiral and overthinking keeps you stuck, if you're tired of fawning or shape-shifting to keep the peace, you're in the right place. Together, we'll work through the complex family and cultural dynamics that have led to depression, shame, and disconnection and build adaptive skills for a healthier relationship with yourself and others.
As a Black, neurodivergent, first-generation daughter of immigrants, I bring an intersectional and culturally responsive approach to therapy. I know that healing doesn't happen in isolation; it happens through our bodies, our communities, our cultures, and our spirituality.
Bring your kaleidoscope self to therapy, all the pieces of your identity, the ones you know well and the ones you're still discovering. Together we'll explore how all the parts of you (race, gender, sexuality, class, faith or lack of it, physical and cognitive differences, and more) shape your story and your healing.
My Therapeutic Approach
I integrate Internal Family Systems (IFS), narrative therapy, somatic practices, mindfulness, and spiritual integration to help mend the divide between you and your sense of self. Spirituality is a pathway to both harm and healing for many. I honor the ways faith, doubt, deconstruction, and sacred, cultural practices may have uniquely shaped your journey.
Together, we'll explore the parts of you shaped by culture, family, and faith, and we'll work toward internal alignment that allows for real external change. You'll learn to process challenging emotions, quiet the thought spirals, and cultivate more peace in your daily life.
Healing isn't just about insight; it's about transformation.

More About Me
When I'm not in the therapy room, I'm dancing salsa or bachata, watching Love Island, or hanging out with my cat, Penny.
Dance isn't just a hobby for me. It's where I practice embodiment, trust, and choosing rhythm over hustle. The dance floor has taught me about power, consent, and staying present in my body, lessons that shape how I show up in therapy.
Through my Substack, Aligned by Abby, I explore what dance, therapy, and even reality TV teach us about embodiment as resistance, radical hospitality, and liberation. If you're curious about where somatic healing meets social change, I'd love for you to follow along.
