Change is A Step Away

Therapists in DFW to help you move from heaviness to spaciousness. From overwhelmed to calm and capable. From feeling out of control to seeing 20/20. It's not about giving you the answer, rather, it's about increasing your capacity and toolkit to increase your capacity to do what is right for you.

Specialities

01

Depression

You were never meant to carry this alone, and the weight you feel isn't a character flaw. For many Black, Indigenous, and people of color, first-generation Americans, and LGBTQ+ individuals, depression is often a response to real and ongoing stressors: racism, economic precarity, cultural disconnection, and systems that were never built with you in mind. At Aligned Therapy, our culturally responsive depression treatment works with your whole self to help you move from survival mode into a life that actually feels like yours.

03

Neurdivergence

Your brain is unique and worthy of discovery. It can be exhausting and isolating to move through a world that values conformity over understanding. For BIPOC and LGBTQ+ neurodivergent people, that exhaustion is often compounded by systems that have historically pathologized both their neurodivergence and their identities. We specialize in ADHD, autism, and related neurodivergent experiences, pairing clients with neurodivergent therapists who get it from the inside out, moving away from a deficit-based model toward an exploratory, affirming approach that fits how you're actually wired.

02

Relationships

The ways we connect (and disconnect) are shaped by everything we've inherited: family systems, cultural norms, intergenerational trauma, and power dynamics we absorbed long before we had words for them. Whether you're navigating relationship issues, family estrangement, boundary setting, or the unique pressures facing interracial couples, multicultural families, and LGBTQ+ relationships, we help you examine those patterns so you can build connections that reflect who you truly are across all of your identities.

04

Religious Harm, Trauma, and Spiritually Integrated Therapy

When the faith community or beliefs that were supposed to offer safety become a source of harm, the wound touches identity, belonging, and the search for meaning all at once. This is especially true for LGBTQ+ individuals, women, BIPOC communities, and those who grew up in high-control religious environments where their full humanity was never welcomed. Our spiritually integrated therapy approach holds space for religious trauma, deconstruction, and faith transitions without rushing you toward resolution, honoring whatever relationship with the sacred feels true for you now.

Clinicians

We're a small team of culturally responsive therapists serving BIPOC, first-gen, queer, and neurodivergent clients across Texas. Each of us brings specialized training in approaches like IFS, somatic therapy, and EFT — and a deep commitment to making healing accessible, affirming, and effective. Get to know us below.

Therapy for First Gens and BIPOC Clients

Family. Friends. Work. Religion. Community.
For those of us with diverse cultural identities, we know that each of these areas comes with it's own rules, values, and expectations. Navigating the complexities of this system can be exhausting. The ways we cope sometimes lead to additional challenges.

Common Coping Mechanisms:

The urge to fix: anxiety, perfectionism, hypervigilence help us to preempt any risks

The urge to avoid: people pleasing, avoidance, and shutting down help ease the intensity which comes from facing these challenges.

Working through complex social dynamics, while our own needs can be demanding. Sometimes looking back feels fruitless. At Aligned Therapy, we are committed to helping you navigate these complexities as you find a path forward that is aligned to the values you choose. Even while navigating root causes of present day challenges, we use treatment modalities like IFS and Somatic therapy, that help you keep one foot in present, as you move forward, into greater alignment with your values and priorities today.
